Hakuryu Sake Brewery was founded in 1839 in Agano, Niigata prefecture.

Winner of the Gold Prize in Mondoselection International Competition in 1994, 1997 and 2002, this gold medal awarded sake brewery mantain the traditional techniques refining the highest varieties of rice from Niigata prefecture, using only the core of rice and the slow melting alcohol generated by low-temperature maturation, creating sake rich in fragrance and taste.
